Washington County, VA judge temporarily blocks Virginias assault weapon ban
A Washington County, Virginia, judge temporarily blocked Virginia’s assault weapons ban. The ban was supposed to take effect Wednesday, the judge says it goes against the constitution. The law would have banned the sale, purchase, and manufacturing of high capacity semi automatic weapons and magazines holding more than 15 rounds. The injunction remains in place until July 1, 2027, or until the court issues a final order. Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones said his office will appeal the ruling.
