Heidi’s House of Hope phase 1 plan approved by planning commission

A plan to build a community of affordable housing in Johnson City clears another hurdle. The Johnson City Regional Planning Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved a preliminary plat for Phase 1 of the planned Heidi’s House of Hope mixed-housing development on Watauga Road. The first phase of the development would consist of 37 total units on a portion of the 45-acre site. Future phases would include additional single-family units. The project would require the widening of Watauga Road in the area. The overall plan is for a total of 184 units to be constructed on the property. The next steps in the process include getting approval of construction plans and final approval.
